Pilots who wish to commence the JAA Flight Instructor course must have a minimum of 250 hours of helicopter flight time of which, for holders of a CPL(H), 100 hours must be as pilot in command. Pilots must also have a valid type rating for the helicopter in which the flight instructor course is to be conducted. At Bristow Academy, JAA Flight Instructor training is conducted on the Schweizer 300CBi.
JAA - Short Flight Instructor Course
Students wishing to complete this course must have a current and valid ICAO Flight Instructor Rating and a valid Type Rating on the Schweizer 300CB. Type Rating training on the 300CB is available from Bristow Academy at $295 per hour including briefings.
