FAA PROGRAM - Ground School Duration and Times:

Rotorcraft Ground School
Seven weeks,
Monday – Friday, 8am – 12pm first four weeks, 12pm – 4pm last three weeks

As this is an integrated program of ground school and flight training students will begin
flight lessons within the first couple of days.

All new students are expected to attend the Welcome Breakfast held the Friday prior to class.

Rotorcraft Ground School Start Dates

Instrument Ground School
Three weeks, Monday – Friday, 1pm – 5pm

Students on the Part 141 Instrument program complete the 3 weeks of ground school before commencing simulator training. Students on the Part 61 Instrument program can combine ground school and flight training, although completion of the first 2 weeks of ground school is recommended.

All new students are expected to attend the Welcome Breakfast held the Friday prior to class.

CFI Ground School
Three weeks and two days, Monday – Friday, 8am – 12pm

As the CFI ground school has a lot of class participation students do not normally fly during this ground school as they need the time outside of the classroom to prepare for each day’s lesson.

The above ground school times do not reflect the complete length of the training program.

All new students are expected to attend the Welcome Breakfast held the Friday prior to class.

EASA(JAA) CPL Integrated Program

The Integrated CPL course takes 47 weeks to complete with final examinations being sat in week 48. The first 7 weeks of the program are full-time ground school, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4pm. Flight training commences in the 8th week with students alternating one day of ground school with one day of flight training. On the flight training days students fly twice a day. Students return to full-time ground school for weeks 29 and 30 of the course with the first set of exams being sat in week 31. Students are also in full-time ground school from week 41 of the course in preparation for the final exams.

All new students are expected to attend the Welcome Breakfast held the Friday prior to class.
