SLM Financial Career Training LoanSM
This loan, offered through SLM Financial, a subsidiary of Sallie Mae, has been designed specifically to help students finance their training. It can be used for the total cost of education and certain related expenses. If the applicant has no credit or a poor credit history they may still qualify for a loan by applying with a creditworthy co-borrower. Minimum loan amount is $1,000. Interest rates are variable (monthly) and based on the Prime Rate plus a spread. The interest rate spread is determined by the applicant and the co-borrower's (if used) credit history. Interest rate starts at Prime +1 percent. Repayment begins 30 days after disbursement. Standard term is 15 years with minimum payments set at $30 a month per loan. AOPA PROGRAM OFFERS LOANS FOR FLIGHT TRAINING
A program available from AOPA Certified partner MBNA America Bank, N. A. offers AOPA members flight training personal loans with rates as low as 5%.
